His symbols are talaria (winged sandals), caduceus, tortoise, lyre, rooster, and petasos (winged helmet).

He's the god of: travel, guard dogs, messages, thieves, tricks, speed, athletics, wrestling, the alphabet, numbers, semantics and linguistics, ambassadors, minor fertility god, hospitality, agility, border crossings, transitions, mathematics, prudence, communication, commerce, boxing, psychopomps, poetry, business, snakes, travel to and from the underworld, passing on of stories, running, cunningness. He also invented the alphabet with the help of the Fates. If you combine everything, he's basically the god of school.

Personality

He often runs away from his problems and is driven by his emotions.
He's a good listener if need-be and very passionate about what he does.
He's VERY emotional and touchy-feely.
He thinks his hair is the best thing ever.
Mercury is much quieter and usually keeps to himself. He's basically another personality.
Sometimes he stutters when he's overwhelmed or crying. He often has very visceral reactions.
He doesn't bless mortals.
He's got two cats, Glasgow (calico) and Dublin (tabby).
Sometimes when he’s really upset he teleports without meaning to.
He honestly craves validation, but he’d never admit it.
He’s an information sponge, he likes learning new things.
He thinks jokes about names and appearance are dumb.
Honestly it’s the best being the only god who can freely travel to the underworld whenever he wants to. The bragging rights are fantastic. Also being able to talk to ghosts is cool (and necessary since it’s his job to bring souls to the afterlife).
He’s not a stranger to mental breakdowns.
People telling him to watch what he says is one of the few things that instantly sets him off. He created several languages and the alphabet, so he gets pissy about it. Sorry.

Physical Characteristics

His default human height has always been 6’5” and he’s not sure why. He used to make himself appear shorter, but he got tired of having to constantly do that.
He has sectoral heterochromia (two different colors in the same eye) with both eyes, mostly dark green with some blue.
His wings are attached to his ankles. They're a molten mixture of brown, grey, tan, and white. Hermes' legs are long, a bit disproportionate from the rest of his lanky body.
He has a ring on his left pinky that turns in to his Caduceus.
He's got a tattoo of a geometric bee on his right ankle and an eyeball on his left hip bone. He has the 1972 8¢ Pharmacy United States Postage Stamp on his left forearm.
He's ambidextrous.

Tidbits

Hermes is the fastest deity in history. His brain also processes information at incredible speeds.
His appetite is insane.
He’s a mama’s boy.
His favorite color is orange.
He describes himself as "An only child with at least eleven siblings."
Loves cacti, succulents, and flowers. Cheesecake and coffee are his favorite foods.
He doesn’t bless mortals.
He has a tracker and a GPS in his brain that can tell him where any person is at any given moment. If someone dips off his radar he panics.
He doesn't define himself as having a sexual orientation seeing as he doesn't feel the need for a label and it fluctuates.
He has an issue with drinking too much coffee and buying too many mugs and thermoses.
